Overview of Tei Karate | |||||
|
The style of Tei, pronounced "Tay", has its foundations in traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate, but has evolved and adapted to include, Thai Boxing and Ju-Jutsu. Training in this “mixed martial art” raises an exponent's confidence levels and not only allows them to be more effective in his or her defence but also keeps the training sessions enjoyable and very interesting. Each of our instructors have had many years teaching experience and attend and train at each and every session so trainees will receive the highest levels of instruction. As well as the 'contact' side of training, the association continues to keep with tradition and an equal amount of time is spent on kihon (Basics - Shotokan), Shotokan Kata and Kumite (WKF rules). Training is suitable for people of all grades, ages and abilities whether beginner or experienced martial artists. We also welcome students from other styles of martial arts and those who have taken a long or short break from training and want to get fit again. New members are welcome, young or old, whether new to Karate or if you haven't trained in a while, or even if you are from another style or martial art we would like to welcome you to our clubs. We are sure you will find training in the Tei Association very enjoyable with our clubs' friendly atmosphere.
