History of the Bearsden Club

The Bearsden club, founded in 1986 by Ross Frame(7th Dan), and Paul Harrison (6th Dan), pictured right is affiliated to East Dumbartonshire Sports Council.

The association's policy is for its members to have fun, get fitter and learn practical karate that works. The Club has an equally active junior and senior membership and welcomes all ages and grades of students from any style of karate or other martial arts.

The dojo (training hall) is fully equipped with floor mats, punch bags and wall mirrors along one full side of the dojo. Kick shields and focus pads are also provided.

There is also an active karate and social program from courses and competitions, to nights out for the seniors and days out for the juniors.

Most of the members also meet for a few refreshments after training to wind down and relax so you will find a great atmosphere at the club and meet many new friends.
